The Rainband Rise Again with Simoncelli Tribute Single

2012 continues to see my good friends The Rainband go from strength to strength. On the back of their recent tour promoting material from their new album, the band have been chosen to perform their second single ‘Rise Again’, as a tribute to motorbike legend, Marco Simoncelli, at the British Moto GP.

The band was contacted by the Marco Simoncelli Foundation to write a single to honour the Italian motor racing hero, who died at the 2011 Malaysian Grand Prix, aged just 24.

Rise Again will be officially released on 18th June and the band filmed the accompanying video in Marco’s hometown of Coriano, Italy.

Martin Finnigan, singer of The Rainband, said:
“Being invited to open the French and Italian motor shows is a big honour for us. We’re performing in aid of the Marco Simoncelli Foundation, whose sole focus is to build a specialist hospital for disabled people in Rimini. All proceeds from our single will go straight to the charity.

“Rise Again is one of our best songs and is a brilliant soundtrack to the Foundation and a fitting tribute to remarkable man.”

The band has invited double world moto GP super bike world champion, James Toseland, to play piano on the track. He knew Marco personally and on hearing the song wanted to perform with The Rainband.

2012 has been a momentous year for the band which has seen them write the title track for Trevor Williams’ short film ‘Plenty More Fish in the Sea’. They have also been named by the O2 event group as ‘Rising Stars’ at the BRITs. Recent support slots include Simple Minds, The Charlatans and Ocean Colour Scene.

You can see a preview of the video below, with the opportunity to donate to the charity on the band's website: http://www.therainband.co.uk

Epicentre remixes urban star A Me B

After working with diva legend Angie Brown, the next Epicentre project is is a remix of the new single by breakthrough urban artist A Me B. In return, there will also be a planned collaboration on the forthcoming Epicentre album.

At just 18, she has been signed up to Affinity Records and already supported major acts such as Tinchy Stryder, Chipmunk, DJ Ironik and Akala, and recently performed at Abbey Road Studio’s in front of a hugely impressed Tom Robinson as part of the BBC Masterclass in London. Tipped by “BBC Introducing” as one to watch for 2011, A Me B has shared the stage with established and emerging UK artists at festivals all across the North West.

The track Outcast is already receiving great feedback, generating support from BBC Manchester Music, BBC Introducing in Manchester and Rinse FM as her star continues to rise.

A Me B is a fresh Urban talent, incorporating deftly delivered rhymes and catchy hooks for a commercial, but hard-hitting sound that is hard to resist. So much so that Amy has confirmed invitations to switch on the St Helens Christmas lights on 19th November, as a main judge and performing the single for Lancashire Boys and Girls clubs “got talent” night at Thwaites Blackburn Theatre on 17th November and as special support for Chipmunk and Mavado at Manchester’s Academy on 13th December.

Written and produced by Amy, Outcast is launched at Manchester’s Dry Bar on Thursday 10 November prior to its’ release on the 15th November where it will be available to download from iTunes.
